Featured in this lot is this pair of 11.07 carat tanzanite, diamond, and 18k dangle earrings with SGL paperwork. The earrings feature professionally tested and stamped 18k dangle earring construction and are marked 'Oscar Fredman' and '18k' on the backside. The center stones on this pair of earrings show two marquise and two pear cut natural tanzanite gemstones, with a total weight of 11.07 carat, that are transparent and with bluish violet color gradient. The dangle earrings are profusely decorated with 86 round brilliant cut diamonds in pave and prong settings with a total weight of 1.87 carats and an average clarity of SI1 - SI2 and average color of G. Tanzanite is an exceedingly rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with SGL (Superior Gemological Laboratory, Inc. a GIA certified lab SGL#: SGLR1114461 with the access code of X9556 at GemRap.com) report and appraisal, confirming the above info and giving a total value of $28,670.00.
