This is a fabulous parrying or "left hand" dagger knife from the 17th century Germans. The piece shows a forged metal blade with long slender shape and pointed tip having an expertly forged fuller on the spine and finely made ricasso / hilt connection. The guard shows a classic German acorn design with finely woven wire wrapped gripping area having a unique spiral like ribbed design. The pommel bottom also shows an acorn design and beautiful engravings. Measures overall 13 3/8-inches long by 2 5/8-inches width at the hilt.
