Available in this lot we have a collection of 14k gold filled and sterling silver hat pins originating from the 1800's. The collection consists of ten hat pins, seven golfing pins and three polo pins and weights .68 oz. Four of the golfing hat pins shows designs of a golf club with two of the other pin showing three clubs in a golfing bag of sterling silver with gold filled accents. The final golf hat pin shows two clubs crossed with a golf ball at each end of the intersection. The three polo pins show 14k gold fill, two showing a whip like design with the last with a club and riding crop crossed. The collection comes with a black velvet holder and shows good condition overall with some wear due to age. The longest pin measures 3 1/4" long overall with the longest decor piece measuring 2 1/4" long. These pins have been valued at approximately $150-$200 per pin (for a total of $1500 to $2000 for the entire set of 10). Provenance: From a New York City jewelry store that operated from the 1800's (19th Century) until its closing in 1920. The contents were attic stored until their sale in 2019 in Wyoming.
