Offered in this lot is a Cameo Pin and Claddagh ring and earring set. The cameo is hand carved of shell. The cameo's face is of a woman with a high ponytail. On the bar of the pin is stamping. Around the cameo is filigree. The pin measures 1 1/4" x 1". On the back of the cameo is a light etching of the artist's mark. The cameo is in good condition. Next is a Claddagh ring and earrings. The old Irish saying that goes along with the Claddagh ring is "With these hands, I give you my heart and crown it with my love." The classic Claddagh design includes two hands clasped around a heart topped with a crown. The hands represent friendship, the heart symbolizes true love, and the crown is for loyalty. The ring has a small red stone in the center of the heart. Claddagh rings date back to the 1700s. The ring is a size U.S. 6 ½; the earrings are 1/2" across and all pieces are stamped “9ct”.
