In this lot are four Kessler beer bottle toppers and one Butte Beer Kork-N-Seal cap. Beer bottle toppers work in the same way that wine toppers do. These toppers are from Kessler Brewery in Helena, Montana. The Kessler beer toppers are dated February 7, 1893; this is stamped on the bottom of the toppers. What would become the Kessler Brewing Company was founded in 1865 by Charles Beeher. In 1868, Beeher was bought out by Luxembourg-born Nickolas Kessler, an entrepreneur who had turned from gold prospecting to trade and manufacturing. Kessler Brewing operated from 1865 to 1958. The toppers are 1" X 1". All the O-rings for these beer toppers are missing. The Kork-N-Seal cap from Butte Beer Company is in good condition, but it does not have the inner seal or cork. This particular type of cap was not the original cap for the bottled product, but was instead given out as a promotional item for later resealing.
