This sixth edition of Thiers' landmark work provides a detailed and authoritative account of the French Revolution, one of the most significant political and social upheavals in European history. Thiers, who eventually became President of France, authored "Histoire de la Révolution Française", a detailed and dramatic chronicle of the events preceding and after the French Revolution (1789-1799). The book delves into the fall of the Ancien Régime, the rise of extreme political forces, the Reign of Terror, and the eventual ascension of Napoleon Bonaparte. This copy is bound in quarter red leather with marbled boards and gilt lettering reading ,"A. Thiers – Révolution Française" and designs on the spine. The boards are marbled in red and black. The book shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. Foxing and staining present on the pages but are still readable.
