Featured in this lot we have a R.B. signed black powder percussion cap rifle chambered in .42 caliber. The rifle was manufactured in America in the 1840's. The rifle displays a 42" long octagonal barrel, walnut stock, percussion cap hammer and lock plate, and brass trigger guard and butt plate. The lock plate shows faint vine hunting scene etching and marked "R.B." on a scroll design. The walnut stock displays some light wear from use and a dark paint or tar finish. The rifle shows working triggers with the hammer not operating properly. The rifle is in good condition overall with some wear and rust due to age and use. No Serial Number. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
