Featured in this lot is this 1859 copy of Campfires of the Revolution or, the War of Independence by Henry C. Watson. The title page is marked, “Camp-Fires of The Revoltion: or, the War of Independence, Illustrated by Thrilling Events and Stories by the Old Continental Soldiers by Henry C. Watson. / With Original Illustrations by Croome. / Providence: S. Clough & Co. 1859.” On the back of the title page marked, “Entered, according to the Act of Congress, in the year 1850, by Lindsay & Blakiston in the Clerk’s Office of the District Court of the United States for the Easter District of Pennsylvania. / Stereotyped by J. Fagan. Printed by C. Sherman.” The book illustrates thrilling events and stories by the old continental soldiers and show original illustrations by Croome and is stereotyped by J. Fagan and printed by C. Sheeman. The book features an embossed blue cloth cover with a gilt illustration on the front cover and gilt lettering on the spine. The condition of this book is good with very slight wear to the bottom and top of the spine but shows the bindings and hinges in good overall condition. The measurements of this book are 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 1 1/2".
