This example is complete and functioning. It has matching numbers on the trigger guard, frame, and barrel. Overall, it displays an attractive deep aged patina with no evidence of having been buffed, polished, steel-wooled, or cleaned. It is in excellent overall condition. The cylinder displays an engraved image of sailing ships by W.L. Ormsby and the cylinder is marked "Colt's Patent No. 786 Engraved by W.L. Ormsby New York". The top of the barrel is marked "ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" with the side of the frame marked "Colts Patent" and ".44 CAL". The frame, trigger guard, and barrel are marked with matching serial numbers. The revolver displays wonderful condition with tight mechanics and blue'd patina. The pistol weighs 2lbs 8oz. Serial Number: 222786. This firearm qualifies as an Antique / Black Powder and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
