For your consideration are eleven beer brewing catalogs from The Western Brewer, National Bottlers', German and American Brewer's Journal, The American Brewers Review and The Western Bottler circa 1875-1902. The catalogs include information on how to brew beer, where to get supplies and machinery for brewing, where to find distributors and merchants, tips and tricks and more. The catalogs were put together by teams of numerous specialists, scientists, and business professionals at the time. Brewers used the catalogs as an extensive manual that gave them resources and information on how they could run their businesses. In those days, the catalogs were thought of as the main source of information for brewers. A variety of brewing-related content, including descriptions of different brewing ingredients like malt, hops, and yeast, could be found in the catalogs. They offered comprehensive details on various brewing processes, recipes for different beer styles, and instructions on the tools and machinery employed in breweries. Additionally, topics like quality control, cellar management, and fermentation were also covered in the catalogs. The catalogs were praised for their thorough and in-depth approach. They provided information on both conventional brewing techniques and cutting-edge technological advancements. The catalogs primarily served professional brewers, but also drew beer enthusiasts and people who were curious about home brewing. Anyone with a passion for beer could use the catalogs to learn more about the ingredients and brewing processes. The catalogs include various pictures of products and machines, different styles of bottles and lids, American hop dealers, various barrels, packaging merchants and more. The catalogs show fair to good condition with signs of fading, staining and tears to some of the catalogs, but all are in good readable condition. The catalogs measure 13 3/16" L x 9 1/8" W x 3/8" D.*
