Featured in this lot is this Navajo Transitional Germantown child's blanket circa 1880-1890. From the estate of Michael Denman; San Francisco. The child's blanket features a wonderfully and professionally hand woven wool construction that is naturally dyed (with evidence of the bleeding of the natural dyes used). The child's blanket features lazy lines throughout the child's blanket with a symmetrical stepped medallion shown on the majority of the child's blanket with blue and teal blue coloration that shows salmon pink in the geometric pattern set to a lighter red. The Germantown fringe can be seen tied to the one side of the child's blanket. The condition of this Navajo child's blanket is well preserved with with some bleeding and fading consistent with the age of the child's blanket and some wear to the finished edges of the child's blanket but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this child's blanket is 28" x 38". The thread count of this child's blanket is 240 threads per square inch.
