Featured in this lot is this The Nugget advertisement bill/receipt (I.O.O.F. Memo) circa 1881; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. This is a I.O.O.F. Memo that includes the signatures of R.S. Hatch, and Milt Joyce. "Bob" Hatch arrived in Tombstone, AZ, in 1880 and was the part owner and proprietor of the Campbell & Hatch Saloon where he was a witness of the murder of Morgan Earp in his Saloon. He was also a witness to the Gun Fight at the OK Corral and the Sheriff of Cochise County from 1883 to 1886. Milton Edward Joyce, proprietor of the Oriental Saloon in Tombstone, Arizona, has been called “one tough old bird” most often cited is Joyce's violent clash in 1888 with the notorious “Doc” Holliday. The I.O.O.F. memo reads as follows: Officers and members of Cochise Lodge No. 5, I.O.O.F., are requested to meet at the hall, this (Sunday) evening, the 27th, at 7 o'clock sharp, for business of importance. Visiting brethren are cordially invited to attend. The condition of this of this memo is well preserved with some browning to the page consistent with its age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this 8" x 3 3/4".
