For your consideration is this 1883 copy of “The Prairie a Tale” written by J. Fenimore Cooper. This book, entered into Congress in 1859, was published in 1883 by D. Appleton & Company. The book shows a red cloth covering with gold gilt lettering and decoration and a black gilt symbolic design. Being a pre-1900s book, the condition of this book is good for its age, showing wear to the spine and browning to the pages consistent with its age. The measurements of this book are 7 1/2" x 5 1/4".
