For your consideration is this collection of Montana bank notes, receipts and stock market summaries circa 1887-1941. The bank notes and receipts total to 180 documents and there are four stock summaries from The Fitch Stock Summery. The bank notes, checks and store receipts are from various towns and stores around Montana such as S.R. Buford & Co. in Virginia City, C.H. Buford Saddlery in Virginia City, Henry Elling Banker in Virginia City, and Buford & Leinenweber Retail in Alder, Montana, but almost all are from Virginia City, Montana. The four Fitch Stock Summaries are dated 1939 (2), 1940 and 1941. These summaries were published monthly by The Fitch Publishing Co. on Wall Street, New York and contained price ranges, stocks, dividends, earrings per share, preferred stocks, studies and graphs and charts. The documents in this lot show good condition but most are fragile and show wear and slight tears to the edges. Some show staining, foxing and creasing throughout. The largest measure 9 1/8" L x 11 1/4" W while the smallest measures 3 1/2" L x 6 1/8" W.
