For your consideration is this 1887 first edition, illustrated copy of “McClellan's Own Story” by George B. McClellan, late Major-General commanding the armies. This book is about the war for the Union, the soldiers who fought it, the civilians who directed it, and his relations to it and to them. The book shows a green cloth and paper wrapped cover, with gilt lettering to the face of the book and a picture of a medal with cross cannons and cross swords above it. The condition of this book is good, with wear to the spine and to the corners of the book, as well as browning to the pages consistent with its age. The measurements of this book are 9 1/2" x 6 1/2".
