Featured in this lot is this 1887 edition of “General John Sullivan's Indian Expedition in 1779” by Frederick Cook. This book shows “Records of Centennial Celebrations” by Frederick Cook. The book is a hardcover edition, published in 1887 by Knapp, Peck & Thomson Printers located in Auburn, New York. The piece tells of John Sullivan's military campaign against the Iroquois Indians, who had sided with the British since the French and Indian war. The book shows an illustration of Sullivan across from the title page and two fold out maps. The piece shows red brown covers with gilt gold lettering across the front and spine, reading "General John Sullivan's Indian Expedition 1779." The condition of this book is well preserved with some of the front pages showing wear from the spine and the outside cloth cover shows wear to the corners and along the spine, with finally some browning to the pages consistent with age. The measurements of this book is 10 3/8" x7 1/8". The collective weight of this book is 3lb 10oz.
