An impressive, edition of ‘The Life and Letters of Charles Darwin’ collected and edited by his son Francis Darwin. This work includes large selections of letters to dozens of different scientists and notable figures, most of which, chosen by his son, were used to describe his early life, foundational theories that led to ‘Origin of Species’, his evolutionary biology studies, and correspondence with Huxley, Gray, and Agassiz.. The books measure 8" X 5 1/4" X 1 3/4". They are bound in red cloth with black edge work on the front and gold lettering on the spine and indented design on the back. These were published in 1888 by D. Appleton and Company. The books are in good condition for their 130 plus year age. 8" x 5 1/4"
