This book originally published in 1880, contains an astounding 328 illustrations by W. Fr. Brown, True Williams, B. Day and other artists including the author. A Tramp Abroad is a work of travel literature, including a mixture of autobiography and fictional events. The book details a journey by the author, with his friend Harris, through central and southern Europe. It sparkles with the author's shrewd observations and highly opinionated comments on Old World culture, and showcases his unparalleled ability to integrate humorous sketches, autobiographical tidbits, and historical anecdotes in a consistently entertaining narrative.
