For your consideration is this 1889 Buffalo Bill's Wild West reproduction print. In 1846, William F. Cody, also known as Buffalo Bill, was born in LeClaire, Iowa. His family moved to Leavenworth, Kansas, when he was a young child. When he was just eleven years old, Cody left home to work as a driver on a wagon train and herd cattle, making several trips across the Great Plains. He continued on to engage in fur trapping and gold mining before enlisting in an early Pony Express in 1860. As a hunter who provided meat for the railroad workers after the Civil War, Cody earned the moniker "Buffalo Bill" while scouting for the Army. While he was well-known in his community for his achievements, he did not achieve fame until he met the novelist Ned Buntline, who turned his life into a series of tales, making him famous. The original poster, which this reproduction is copied from, was copyrighted in 1898 by Courier Litho Company. This reproduction lithograph was printed by Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin in the mid 19th century. The lithograph shows a portrait of Buffalo Bill front and center looking towards the viewer, while surrounding him, are scenes from the rodeo. The top of the lithograph reads "Buffalo Bill's Wild West" in orange lettering and below that it reads, "And Congress Of Rough Riders Of The World" in blue lettering. The bottom of the lithograph reads "Actual Scenes - Genuine Characters. The lithograph is set in a gorgeous, professionally done frame showing burl front panels and intricate hand tooled carvings on the edge of the frame. The lithograph is set behind glass. Overall the lithograph and frame show good condition with little to no wear present, and no signs of damage. The visible lithograph measures 22 1/8" L x 32 1/2" W, while the entire piece measures 30 3/8" L x 40 11/16" W.
