The Crosby Steam Engine Indicator is designed and constructed to meet the exacting requirements of modern steam engineering. The manual states it was entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1896, by Crosby Steam Gage and Valve Co. This Crosby Indicator includes directions for the attached Amsler's Polar Planimeter and Prof. C. H. Peabody's Calorimeter, The a directions journal with information on usage and theory behind the mathematics of measuring the steam pressure and is purposed to explain all this in simpler terms for the inexperienced. This Indicator is situated in a felt lined wooden box with a nice button hinge and a swivel handle. The measurements of this box are 5 1/4" x 8 1/2" x 7".
