Featured in this lot is this Rare First Edition of "History and its Heroes" by James Hunter, 1897, J. H. Moore Company publishers. This book contains "the history of all countries and biographies of their illustrious people, embracing the lives, deeds and personal traits of eminent statesmen, great generals, noted reformers, great inventors, successful men and women, of all countries and all times; giving a detailed story of the Klondike Gold Fields, Alaska and the Yukon River, History of Cuba and her fights for freedom, Turkey and the Armenian massacre, War in Africa and Dr. Jameson's Raid into the Transvaal, Venezuela, the Boundary Question and the Monroe Doctrine, Chili and her recent revolution, Nicaraguan Canal dispute, Brazil and her late Civil War, and war between China and Japan." This book includes a profusely illustrated decoration with 700 engravings and photographs. The condition of this book is good with slight wear to the green cloth bound gold gilt stamped illustration hardcover and age tanning to the pages consistent with the age of the book. The measurements of this book are 7.5"W x 10.5"L x 2.25"D, weight 4lb, 12oz.
