Featured in this lot is this large copper dovetail cauldron kettle circa late 18th to 19th century. The cauldron or kettle features a wonderfully and professionally crafted copper construction with a cast iron forged handle; the cauldron shows a slight hard to see dovetail joint seam horizontally connecting the bottom of the cauldron and shows a hammered to completion style of shaping with a rolled lip to the cauldron. The condition of this copper cauldron is reserved with a major ding and folding to the copper side walling and shows heavy patina consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this cauldron is 11 1/2" x 18 1/8" x 17". The collective weight of this copper cauldron is 7lb 6 oz.
