The lot features a fantastic late-18th century to early-19th century Native American Powder Horn, powder measuring horn cup and shot pouch, identified as Native owned and used. The piece shows a wonderful powder horn with artfully carved ridged and fluted tip with carved wood end paired with a shot measuring cop carved from horn with an octagonal and tapering design. With the original leather shot pouch. The piece shows some stiffness and cracks but overall a historic and rare early piece. Likely from the Eastern tribes from the Great Lakes Woodland's regions in the late-1700's and made its way west to the Plains by the 1800's. Scarce and rare early American and American Frontier example. Measures overall 26.5-inches long, powder horn is about 9.5-inches wide across.
