For your consideration is an 18th Century Louis XIII Carved Walnut Writing Table with Single Drawer, Turned Baluster Legs and Carved Finial. The furniture of the Louis XIII period, typically massive and solidly built, is characterized by carving and turning with ornate scroll work being a common motif. This French Louis XIII period walnut side writing table from the 18th century exudes elegance and sophistication, perfect for adding a touch of historical charm to your home. The table is crafted from rich walnut wood, exhibiting a warm hue and natural grain that highlights its age and pedigree. A single drawer provides practical storage, adorned with a simple brass pull. Two-board top features a thumb mould lip edge, standing on four turned baluster legs, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and intricacy. These legs are connected by an "H" form turned stretcher, adding stability and visual interest, while a centrally placed carved finial serves as a focal point, enhancing the table's overall timeless beauty. To complete the look, the table is set upon four elegant bun feet, ensuring a sturdy foundation and a touch of refinement. Rich patina exhibited throughout, original natural wood imperfections visible adding to the warm countryside charm. The table is in preserved condition, top exhibits wear from age and use.
