The charming fauteuil style settee and arm chair feature original upholstery of matching floral tapestry designs of melon fruit, vines and leaves. The settee is raised by elegant finely carved cabriole legs with acanthus leaves, scrolled apron of finely carved acanthus designs. Serpentine rolled arms with intricate fine carvings rise up to meet the scalloped shaped camel back headrest with carved acanthus designs. Upholstery brass tacks provide a distinctive visual separation between the tapestry fabric and the wood frame. X-style stretcher base frame. Rear of both pieces has green velvet cloth. Both pieces are in very nice preserved condition, tapestry upholstery is in good overall condition, finish well maintained for its age and use. Settee measures 28"D x 50.5"W x 43"H, chair is 24"D x 30"W x 43.5"H. They have a total weight of 128 pounds.
