This is a fabulous large wrought iron sign bracket / architectural piece from the 18th century to 19th century, English or French. The piece is all hand crafted wrought iron with high detail, as well as remnants of gilt gold finish. The bottom area shows the original mount. This was recovered from an 1800's Livingston to Paradise Valley, Montana barn. The piece is thought to have been mounted such as the first picture (but could be mounted such as the second picture) with the center area missing something originally, such as the sign or additional architectural adornment. Modern brackets in pictures do not come with the piece. Measures 8-foot (96-inches) by 5-foot 4-inches (64-inches).
