Featured is an Original 1900 Frontier Trade Knife with a late century Blackfeet Tacked Parfleche Sheath. The trade knife shows a classic old clip point blade trade knife with solid wood two piece coffin style handle, partial tang. The brass cap tacked parfleche sheath is adorned with a linear pattern of trade tacks, a leather thong carry loop, and at the bottom, leather thong strips with Venetian Chevron and Hudson's Bay white heart beads. The wood has a dark coloring from honest age and use. Blade is blackened, possibly with animal fat, to slow oxidation. Knife appears in good overall condition, handle is loose. Parfleche sheath is in good preserved condition, no missing tacks noted. Knife blade measures 7.5"L, knife is 12.25"L. Sheath is 11.25"L x 4.25"W, collective weight is 8oz.
