For your consideration is this 1901 copy of Catlin's The Nother American Indians vol I & II. This pair was printed in 1891 from the first edition done in 1841. This two volume set contains nearly four hundred illustrations made from Catlin's original works. From 1832 to 1839, George Catlin extensively studied 50 Indian tribes, taking careful notes on their behavior, traditions and ways of life. These are a scarce set that feature a wonderfully illustrated and decorated gilt cover and spine. The first volume contains three pieces of newspaper with articles on Catlin. The condition of these books is good with well preserved gilded covers and well preserved pages with little to no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of these books are 10 1/4" x 7".
