Featured in the lot is this Antique 1903 Deering Harvester Company Wall Calendar, titled, "Ideals". This calendar was issued by the Deering Division of the International Harvester Co. of Chicago, IL. The image shows a man and woman standing beside a wooden rail fence with a farmer riding on an "Ideal" Deering grain binder pulled by a team of horses in the background. Each month refers to a different geographical location where Deering farm equipment was used. The facing month of January states, "Australia And South America are harvesting with Deering Binders and Mowers this month. Wherever grass is cut or grain harvested, DEERING LIGHT-DRAFT IDEALS are the favorite harvesting machines Because they are reliable and possess every known improvement-built on scientific principles and built rightly". The calendar poster reads, "World's Greatest Manufacturers Of Grass, Grain And Corn Harvesting Machines.", and, "World's Greatest Manufacturers Of Corn Shredders, Shockers, And Binder Twine." The Deering Harvester Co. was one of five companies that merged in 1903 to form the International Harvester Company.
This wall calendar is in exceptional condition for its age, minimal age tanning and foxing noted. all individual months are intact. Top right corner of poster is creased, no other obvious marring noted. Measures 9.5"W x 13.25"L approximately.
