Featured in this lot is this booklet of 143 business licenses given to men and women in 1909-1910 in Gallatin, Madison and Beaverhead Counties in Montana. The licenses show the license number, who it was issued to, when it was granted, when it expires, the signature of the City Treasurer and the price of the license. Some of the businesses that were licensed include restaurants, merchants, saloons, the Virginia Hotel, breweries, meat markets, the Madison Hotel, bankers, soft drink sellers and stables. The licenses are numbered from 1798 to 1940. The licenses are in good condition and show some slight foxing and staining from their vintage age but are in good readable condition. The licenses come in an oversized booklet. The licenses measure 4 3/4" L x 3 3/4" W, while the entire booklet measures 4 13/16" L x 10 15/16" W.
