For your consideration is a rare, framed, 1911 Montana hydro and fuel power company plants map, compiled and drawn by Daniel O'Hare. It was engraved and printed by the U.S. Geological Survey. The bottom right of the map reads "Department of the Interior General Land Office, Fred Dennet, Commissioner. State of Montana. Compiled from the official Records of the General Land Office and other sources under the direction of I.P. Birthrong, Chief of Drafting Division, G.L.O., 1911." This Map of Montana, which shows locations of electric power plants and indicates whether each is hydro- or fuel-powered, is colored to indicate plant ownership by Amalgamated Copper Co., H.M. Byllesby & Co., Clark-Missoula Power Co., Missoula Light & Water Co., Montana Power Co., or others. It is also colored to show boundaries of national forests (including Kootenai, Blackfeet, Flathead, Lewis and Clark, Lolo, Missoula, Bitterroot, Deer Lodge, Helena, Beaverhead, Madison, Gallatin, Absaroka, Beartooth, Custer, and others). It is professionally framed, measuring 26" x 33.75"; the map itself measures approximately 18" x 26".
