Featured in this lot is this 1917 Seventh Impression copy of “Travels in Alaska” by John Muir. Muir was a Scottish-American naturalist who campaigned extensively for the preservation of America's wilderness lands. He co-founded the Sierra Club and is often referred to as the "Father of the National Parks". The book describes the adventures and travels John Muir took across Alaska. The piece features twelve illustrations spread throughout the book. This hardcover book shows a sage green cover with white lettering along the cover and spine and a color illustration across the top of the cover. The condition of this book is good with some wear to the outside cover of the book and some browning to the pages consistent with the age of the book but otherwise shows good overall condition. The measurements of this book are 8 3/8" x 5 3/4".
