This is a fine fully-completely beaded purse from the Plateau Nez Perce Native American Indians dating to circa 1920’s. The piece shows a traditional flapper style Art Deco purse pattern with thin metal clasp which has been completely beaded along both sides, bottom, edge and handle in a geometric and floral pattern. The beads include a greasy chalk white background on one side with semi-transparent background on the other all having patterns in colors such as red, cobalt, greasy green, iridescent green, amber, semi-transparent orange, faceted semi-transparent brown, faceted red, iridescent pearl like semi-transparent, semi-transparent iridescent teal, semi-transparent blue. The piece shows little to no bead loss a except along the handle slight bead loss and is trade thread sewn. Measures overall 14”L with strap by 8.75”W by approximately 1 7/8” wide when empty.
