In this lot is a pen and inkwell desk set made of wood and brass circa 1920. The base is a rich brown wood 10" X 6" with a brass handle for ease of movement. On either side of the brass handle are four small metal crowns that hold the inkwells firmly in place. The two inkwells are square cut crystal with brass hinged stoppers. The base has an indentation on each side to lay pens in. The set has three pens. Two of the pens are black wood and cork and the third pen is a Carters Ink Company pen. In the 1920s, when upmarket writing pens were a popular luxury item, Carter began its range of pens. The line was discontinued in the early 1930s, but they are still fondly remembered and sought after by collectors. The pen has a blue marble color barrel with a gold tone lever for drawing the ink.. These items are in very good condition for the age.
