Offered in this lot is an excellent condition "Boater Hat" made by The Hat Box A.C. Kehoe in Butte, Montana. The boat hat was popular in the late 1800's to the mid 1900's. The custom hat business was waning in the 1950s when The Hat Box relocated to 106 N. Main Street, Butte, Montana before closing in 1957. This hat is of a golden straw with a 2 1/2" brim and a 3 1/2" crown. The hat is a 7 5/8 size and made off the Hopkins Baltimore registration. The hat has a navy blue and gold ribbon hat band. This hat is in excellent, like-new condition with slight aging from storage. This hat is a great item of men's fashion and Butte, Montana history.
