For your consideration is this 1922 United States $20 gold certificate bill set in a wood display box. 1922 is the last year that large size gold certificates were issued. This also happens to be the last time that George Washington was featured on a twenty dollar bill. The bill shows George Washington front and center as he looks towards the viewer. The bill's number is "K29206849" and reads at the bottom, "In Gold Coin Payable To The Bearer On Demand". The front is visible when the box is clsed and when opened, the back of the bill can be viewed. The back shows an orange colored print and reads at the bottom, "Gold Certificate". The wood box shows a quarter sawn oak construction and a felt cushion on the inside of the box. The bill shows good condition overall with some slight fading and creases present from its vintage age and circulation. The bill measures 3 3/8" L x 7 3/8" W, while the box measures 5 3/8" L x 9 3/4" W x 1 1/8" D. The piece weighs approximately 1 pound and 2 ounces.
