Offered in this lot is a hardback, 1925 first edition of the Zane Grey book, “The Thundering Herd”. The book tells the story of hunter Tom Doan, who set out on the buffalo trail to earn enough for a down-payment on a farm. Then another man kidnapped his girl and Indians scalped his boss. Tom is forced to deliver his own brand of justice. Pearl Zane Grey (1872 – 1939) was an American author and dentist best known for his popular adventure novels and stories about the West. In addition to the success of his books, many have had success when made into films and television productions. His novels and short stories have been adapted into 112 films, two television episodes, and a television series. The book has a green cloth cover with dark green picture and print. The book is in good condition and measures 7 5/8" x 5 1/4" x 1 ¼”.
