Featured in this lot is this 1930 first edition copy of “Lone Cowboy” by Will James. Illustrated by the author, the narrative of “Lone Cowboy” tells how a little boy, hardly more than a baby, becomes an orphan in the West and how an old French trapper, whom the boy calls Bopy, adopts him and takes him on his long hunts. When the boy is still young, Bopy is lost in an icy river and the child, heartbroken, rides down into the prairie region alone. James gives a complete and varied idea of how a cowboy lives as he moves toward his remote objective, becoming an artist. This book shows a green cover with glint gold lettering across the front and spine of the book. The front cover shows a cowboy on top of a horse with his lasso in hand. This book shows very good condition and measures 8 1/2" long by 6" wide and 1 1/2" thick.
