For your consideration is this full size Native American Indian Cigar Store Indian woman / Trading Post mannequin dating to circa 1930’s-. The head is constructed from ceramic and has glass eyes as well as real black braided hair. The mannequin features two braids and a set of feathers decorating the hair. The Indian is dressed in a wonderful floral long sleeve shirt and a bright woven quilt. The figure displays a bone beaded necklace and a colored beaded necklace. The figure is set onto a chair with the quilt draped over the legs. The chair is constructed from oak and shows a lovely patina. These mannequins were very popular in the early 1900’s being very similar to the cigar store Indians. These mannequins were used to advertise a stores distribution of tobacco products. The piece shows good condition overall with the left hand showing signs of repair. The mannequin measures 46" tall by 16 1/2" wide and approximately 31" deep.
