Both fall in love with the people and landscape. This is a story of adventure, love and tragedy set in breathtaking lands of abundant vegetation and kind hearted people. The book features a light teal cover with a simple embossed wave design. The spine features the title, "The Dark River" and both authors below that, "Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall". The first page features a black and white photo of the authors with a write up about them. Overall the book is in good condition with no signs of obvious damage.
