For your consideration is this 1940s Daisy Red Ryder carbine style BB gun. The Red Ryder BB Gun is a BB gun made by Daisy Outdoor Products and introduced in the spring of 1940 that resembles the Winchester rifle of Western movies. Named for the comic strip cowboy character Red Ryder (created in 1938, and who appeared in numerous films between 1940 and 1950, and on television in 1956), the BB gun is still in production, though the comic strip was cancelled in 1963. This Daisy rifle shows metal construction with plastic stock and fore grip. The piece is marked on the top of the barrel reading, "Daisy Red Ryder Carbine No. 111-Model 40-Pats. 880.555-1062.855-Other Pats. Pend. Daisy MFG. Co. Plymouth, Michigan U.S.A.". The rifle shows embossed images and textures on the stock and fore grip. The metal components of the gun are rusted in some areas. The rifle is in fair condition with a chip in the stock and rusting in some areas. The rifle has not been tested for functionality. The Red Ryder measures 35 1/2" L and 3 1/2" W at the widest point of the stock.
