This is a limited edition, #689, with illustrations and maps included, providing a history of the migration of Oregon-raised herds to mid-western markets. History of the western cattle empire, with first hand recollections on its twilight. Includes material on the hanging of Cattle Kate, the Johnson County War, Tom Horn and the Wild Bunch. Edited and arranged by E. A. Brininstool, The Caxton Printers, Ltd., 1948. Rust coloured cloth bound cover is in good condition with some moisture staining at the top, the spine is intact with gold gilt embossed and lettering, moisture staining along top edge, pages have deckled top and front edges, moisture staining is noted along top edge particularly to rear pages. Plain brown dust jacket with spine titled and ruled in black, moisture staining noted to top. Previous owner's name is written on page opposite inside cover, ink annotations noted on some pages.
