Included in this lot is this 1950's Studded Cap Gun Double Leather Holster and two (2) Western style cap guns. When the popularity of television exploded in the 1940s and 1950s, Western genre shows like Hopalong Cassidy and Gunsmoke quickly became audience favourites and soon every kid in the neighborhood wanted to be a cowboy. Characters like Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger, and Marshal Matt Dillon fueled the imaginations of millions of children during the post-war years of the 1950s and 1960s.
Holster is in good overall condition, some of the plastic edge trim is loose from the stitching. Leather is supple, stamped belt buckle and metal studs have rich patina, no stud loss noted. Left holster decoration buckle is missing. Holster measures 14"W x 27"l approximately.
One cap gun is a 1950s Frontier Smoker diecast, with a polished nickel finish and black grip covers with a figural horse head design on them, has engraving and is marked FRONTIER SMOKER on both sides. There is corrosion on the inside, cap firing mechanism is broken, approximately 9.5"L
Second cap gun is also a 1950s circa Hubley "Western" cap gun pistol with a figural steer head design on both white grip covers, with a polished nickel finish, rich patina throughout, appears in working order, 8.5"L
