For your consideration is this 1950's Pueblo Santo Domingo gourd dance rattle made by Martin Herrera, Chief Red Willow. The rattle shows traditional design of the Santo Domingo people's; The feathers are out of birds in the zoological garden in Los Angeles. The dancing rattle shows iconic Pueblo Indian geometric patterns and a leather strap attached to the handle; this rattle also shows its original trade tag with minor repair to the tag. The Puebloans or Pueblo peoples, are Native Americans in the Southwestern United States who share common agricultural, material and religious practices. The condition of this rattle is good with the only visible damage is to the tag and small wear to the spindle with the feathers attached. The measurements of this rattle 26" x 4 1/2" x 4 1/2".
