Featured in this lot is this 1960 first edition of “Frederic Remington's Own West” by Harold McCracken. This book was written and illustrated by Frederic Remington, edited with an introduction by Harold McCracken, and published from The Dial Press New York, New York in 1960. An anthology of painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer Frederic Sackrider Remington’s (1861-1909), illustrated with more than one hundred of his famous drawings, provides an exciting record of the Old West as it once was, with tales of cowboys, Indians, and soldiers. Selected essays arranged to form an autobiographical sequence. An excellent approach to understanding Remington whose works are a history of America's Old West. The condition of this book is well preserved with some wear to the outside cloth wrapped cover and browning to the pages consistent with age and a couple pages showing tears. The measurements of this book is 10 1/4" x 7 1/4". The collective weight of this book is 1lb 8oz.
