For your consideration is this 1975 1st edition book titled, "Butte's Memory Book" by Don James, pictures by C. Owen Smithers Senior and published by The Caxton Printers. This book is primarily a pictorial history of the community of Butte, Montana. Through an extensive selection of pictures from the Smithers historical collection, the history of Butte is presented in a broad and unique manner. It includes not only mines, buildings, and interesting people, but a view into what like was like during the heyday of copper mining. The book shows a dust cover with a drawing of the early town and the smoke stacks in the background, with the author's name in black lettering. The original hardcover shows the same as the dust jacket. The book is in good condition overall with most wear and damage to the original dust jacket. The original hardcover is in good condition with no signs of obvious wear or damage. The interior pages show good condition as well with no signs of tears or foxing present. The book measures 11 1/8" L x 8 5/8" W x 1 1/4" D.
