Featured in this lot we have a Winchester and Colt two gun commemorative set and case. This rare 1980's set commemorates the two companies most popular and iconic firearms, the Colt Single Action Army and the Winchester Model 94 Lever Action Rifle. The pair are both cambered in .44-40 WCF and are engraved with 18 carat gold across the exterior. The pair come with an oak case with a brass plaque and fitted interior. The Winchester Model 94 is etched with floral and geometric designs in 18 carat gold across the frame and barrel with the left side of the frame showing the Winchester galloping cowboy on a horse on the side with the center showing the initials "WC", the right side of the frame is engraved with the bust of Winchester. The barrel is engraved with "Winchester" on the left side flanked by floral designs and the right side shows a building depicted across the side. The tang is etched with the signature "O. F. Winchester". The side of the barrel is marked "Winchester - R - MODEL 94 44-40 WIN Made in New Haven, Conn, U.S.A. Winchester Proof Steel" and the tang under the lever action reading "Mfd by U.S. Repeating Arms Co Winchester TM's licensed from Olin Corporation". Serial Number: WCX2024WC. The Colt Single Action Army revolver is chambered in .44-40 WCF with blue'd and case hardened finish and walnut grips. The cylinder is engraved with 18 carat gold floral designs along with a medallion design with the initials "WC" and the a second with the Colt Stallion. The barrel is similarly etched with "COLT" flanked by floral designs and building on the other side similarly flanked. The back of the grip is gold engraved with the signature of Col. Sam Colt. The piece is marked across the top of the barrel reading "+Colts PT, F, A, MFG, Co, Hartford, CT, U.S.A.+" with the left side of the frame marked "PAT. SEPT.19.1871. " JULY.2.-72 " JAN.19,-75". Serial Number: 2024WC. The set comes in a solid oak case with brass hardware and a plaque across the top reading "Winchester Colt Commemorative Set O. F. Winchester Col. Sam Colt U.S. Repeating Arms Company Winchester trademarks licensed from Olin Corporation". The oak case features a fitted red velvet interior for the rifle and revolver as well as sections for gilt medallions and a corner for storage. Both firearms are in brand new, never fired condition, with the set as a whole in wonderful display condition though missing the medallions and key. Rifle Serial Number: WCX2024WC.
