Featured in this lot is a vintage Union Pacific RR Equipment Trust builders sign from 1988. In a typical equipment trust, a "trust certificate" is sold to investors in order to finance the purchase of railroad equipment such as locomotives and rolling stock by a trust managed on the investors' behalf. The trust then leased the equipment to the railroad, and the trustee (usually a bank) then routed payments through the trust to the investors. The stated trustee is Citibank N.A.. The sign shows a brown background that has faded due to its age and outdoor use, with screw holes on each corner and the in the middle of the top and bottom sign. The sign reads "Union Pacific Equipment,Trust No. 2 of 1988,Citibank N.A., Trustee. Owner. Lessor." in black, slightly indented lettering and is in good condition. The sign measures 7 1/2" L x 23" W.
