Featured in this lot is this limited-edition lithograph dated 1991, from Montana artist Gary Carter (born 1939), and called " Five Minute Furlough". The artwork features cavalry men and Native American hunters mounted on horseback, herding and harvesting buffalo on a snow-covered plains scene. The artist’s signature is in the bottom right hand and includes Certificate of Authenticity and Registration paperwork and the artist's commentary attached to the back of the chromolithograph. The piece is numbered 490/850. Gary Carter is a Yellowstone, Montana artist and was inducted into the Cowboy Artist of American (CAA Member) in 1982. Gary Carter was also adopted into the Crow Tribe and Real Bird Family and made a member of the Big Lodge Clan, given the name of “Eagle Man”. The condition of this framed lithograph is good, with a slight wear mark to the upper left-hand corner of the frame. The measurements of this framed lithograph are 31 5/8" x 43 1/4" and the visible art measures 20" x 33".
