This lot includes a 19th Century American Empire Period Butler's Desk. The top over a fall-front opening to reveal an interior space fitted with a set of two small drawers on each side, each set above a pair of larger drawers. Above the upper drawers are eight open slots for correspondence et al. The fall-front over three drawers with Hepplewhite drawer pulls flanked by spiral columns. The whole raised on padded feet. American Empire Patterned after French Empire with classical influences. It is moderate in proportion with classical ornamentation, coarse carving, and a dark finish. This piece is in good condition, wear consistent with normal usage and age. Measurements are 41.5"L x 21.75"W x 43.25"H
